XL CUTTLEBONE BULK PACKAGE. Approximately 15 huge 8" - 10" long x 1/2" thick fresh Cuttlebones arrive directly from their source per container. It is essential for pet birds to get the calcium and the beak conditioning these natural cuttlefish backbones provide. To store leave in cardboard box or in a plastic container that is NOT airtight. You can punch a hole in a large plastic container and place some dried rice inside to absorb any moisture in the air, moisture is the ruination of cuttlebones. Scrape off any stain with a knife. Prices have skyrocketed, but each will last a long time. Chickadee, our pied Cockatiel, is eating half a large cuttlebone stuck in between the cage bars horizontally with the soft side down, while Paulie chews an XL standing vertically on top of her cage.
Cuttlefish are marine molluscs. They belong to the class Cephalopoda which also includes squid, octopuses, and nautiluses. Cuttlefish have a unique internal shell, the cuttlebone, which is used for control of buoyancy.
Now that's an XL Cuttlebone! All birds enjoy these as they are truly fresh from their source when ordered in bulk.
MANU CALCIUM BLOCKS provide essential minerals for a healthy bird. These mineral blocks are formulated to contain the same nine minerals, in the same concentration, as the natural mineral deposits found in the MANU CLAY CLIFFS in the foothills of Peru's Andes Mountains. Wild birds flock to ingest the river's natural, mineral rich clay. Now your pet bird can benefit from the same natural ingredients including:
calcium, iron, manganese, potassium, zinc, copper, magnesium, phosphorus, and sodium.
Lafeber Classic Nutri-Berries
Made with Non-GMO and
Human-Grade Ingredients
PET BIRD FOOD
With a high percentage of pellet nutrition and a nutty crunchy exterior, the best of both worlds. Perfect for switching from to a pellet base nutrition from a seed only diet. Birds love them!
3.25 - 4 LB tubs shown, available in other sizes. Bird pictured on cover denotes size of pellet, i.e. Budgie Parkakeet, Cockatiel, Sun Conure, Amazon Parrot, and Macaw & Cockatoo.
These Nutri-Berries are in a variety package with 4 different flavors. They have less pellet content so I mix them in with the classic for added interest. Paulie likes all these flavors: Tropical Fruit, El Paso, Sunny Orchard and Garden Veggie, especially El Paso with dried peppers. Great rewards and snacks.
Large Fresh Nemeth Farms Spray Millet from Canada. Best to purchase when harvested at end of year.
See Paulie, our blue fronted Amazon Parrot, LOVING a millet spray, his favorite treat.
Nemeth Farms, Worlds Freshest Sun-Dried Spray Millet GMO and Pesticide Free Bird Treat and Supplement for All Pet Birds.
NO STEMS, ONLY EDIBLE TOPS
This is my favorite cage accessory. Translucent light blue attracts birds like a pool of water... while letting you see inside. Secure cage attachment works well on most cages. Here is little Chickadee, the Cockatiel, taking a bath in her water dish, and another picture of our Blue Fronted Amazon Paulie's cage with 3 across, holding her salad, water and nuts. LiXit bath and feeders are bird approved.

WHAT ARE DUMMY EGGS? Dummy eggs are solid non-toxic bird egg reproductions used to control breeding in pet birds. Our eggs are exclusively designed and manufactured in the USA since 2006 by DummyEggs®.
BIRDS COUNT THEIR EGGS! Hens start building their clutch (nest of eggs) by laying one egg every other day. Her DNA tells her exactly how many to lay. She will lay until she has the proper number of eggs for her species. Any extra eggs will be pushed out of the nest. A clutch of eggs are all laid consecutively, usually within one week. DO NOT REPLACE LIVE EGGS ONE BY ONE!
USE ALL YOUR DUMMY EGGS AT ONCE! Substituting a dummy egg for a live egg one at a time will not fool her into thinking she has laid a full clutch and it is time to start incubating. Seeing a full clutch turns her hormones off and she stops laying.
Leave the nest bowl in place for the same number of days that would be a normal incubation for your species (see "Egg Size Chart") and then remove. Clean eggs and replace sanitized shredded paper or wood nesting material often.
Place your dummy eggs in a shallow flat bowl large enough for one or two birds to sit in comfortably. Place dummy eggs in nest bowl and place at bottom of cage or where ever your bird is comfortable.
Birds react to any changes in their environment. A nest bowl can sometimes frighten them. If this happens, place the nest bowl near their cage so they can see it first. Clean often. Use shredded white paper towels or Natural Paper Bedding with no odor absorption. Newspaper is not advised as the inks stain the eggs.
The bowl shown here is flat bottomed and shallow with enough weight that when your bird climbs in it won't tip over. Cockatiel size birds can use a 6" - 7" bowl, measured across the top, and slightly larger or smaller for other size birds. The width of the bowl should be large enough to for your bird to lay in comfortably head to about 1/2 way down her tail. If you have a pair, then it should fit them both. A similarly shaped salad or desert bowl will also due fine.
Nesting material is important and must be changed regularly. We have selected bedding or nesting material made specifically for birds shown in the link below. It is important that the nest bedding not have anything added for odor control such as baking soda or other chemicals because they can be a problem for a bird's delicate respiratory systems. Make sure any bedding material you buy says "natural" with no "odor control added products." Sanitized paper or wood itself provides natural odor control, and often bedding products are referring to the natural properties of the material used. Read the ingredients for yourself and you will see for sure if any form of powder is added that could be harmful such as baking soda. Better to be safe than sorry. Shredded white paper towels always work great and are something you would have around the house. Do not use newspaper with toxic inks.
Parrot & bird owners are no stranger to "Comfy Perches" made with braided thread. Here is how we use the shorter XL variety on top of the cage. They clean very well when run through the dishwasher.
